OUR TEACHERS

Miranda Crawford

STUDIO OWNER & TEACHER

Miranda’s relationship with yoga began as a child, practising alongside her mum. But it was through pregnancy, childbirth and raising four children that the deeper teachings of yoga began to take on real meaning; patience, acceptance, compassion and learning to meet life as it is.

For Miranda, yoga has never been just about the poses. She sees asana as a place where we practise the skills we need for life,  learning to stay present through challenge, notice our patterns and meet ourselves with a little more curiosity and compassion.

With more than 500 hours of yoga teacher training, alongside further study in kids yoga, creative sequencing and Pilates, Miranda is also an Accredited Exercise Physiologist. She loves bringing together traditional yoga philosophy with modern movement and exercise science.

Forever curious about the body, Miranda explores many forms of movement, including strength training, Pilates and handstands. Her classes are playful, creative and intentional, blending philosophy, movement and science in a way that encourages you to explore what your own body can do.

Above all, Miranda is an advocate for movement for all bodies and all stages of life, and believes our practice should continue to evolve and change right alongside us.

Aaron Griffiths

STUDIO OWNER & TEACHER

Aaron is co-owner of The Hot Yoga Room and proof that life can take you in some wonderfully unexpected directions. Originally a lawyer, a few years ago he restructured his life around something he had always loved, movement.

With a background in calisthenics, handstands and locomotion, Aaron came to yoga a little later and quickly fell in love with both the physical practice and its deeper philosophy. A natural deep thinker, he loves exploring the bigger questions yoga asks of us and weaving them into his teaching, usually balanced with a healthy dose of light-heartedness and the occasional questionable dad joke.

Aaron teaches weekly Vinyasa and Power classes, as well as our monthly Advanced Asana sessions, where you can play with arm balances, inversions, handstands and some of the more challenging parts of the practice. His classes encourage curiosity, play and exploration, challenging what your body can do while leaving you with something deeper to think about long after you leave the mat.

When he’s not teaching or upside down somewhere, Aaron is currently learning to play the didgeridoo! So you may even be lucky enough to hear that making its way into the studio too.

Deb Burnett

TEACHER

Deb has always loved movement and took a keen interest in pilates, aerobics and natural health from a young age. In 2019, she discovered yoga and uncovered a deep sense of connectedness, describing it as the feeling of coming home. After attending her first class, she knew she wanted to share the gift of yoga with others.

Taking the leap and completing her 200-hour YTT in 2023, Deb stepped straight into teaching, marking the beginning of her journey to inspire others towards holistic well-being. Rooted in authenticity and guided by her heart-centered approach to life, Deb believes in the profound connection between body, mind and spirit and weaves this philosophy into her vinyasa classes.

Deb is passionate about fostering body connectedness and cultivating a peaceful inner world, seeing yoga as a transformative modality to rediscover our divine selves.

Combining a strong focus on functional movement and anatomical alignment with fluid sequences and subtle energetic practises, Deb loves to challenge her students to build strength and stamina whilst also guiding them into a deeper sense of surrender and self-compassion.

Steph Chilvers

TEACHER

Originally from Bermuda, Steph is known for her calm and grounding energy both on and off the mat. Her teaching style is lighthearted and her classes balance strength and softness to meet you wherever you are in your journey.

Steph’s love for thoughtful and progressive sequences is felt throughout her Vinyasa classes, as each pose flows naturally into the next and builds on what came before. You’ll leave feeling rejuvenated, relaxed a little more connected to yourself.

When she’s not teaching, Steph enjoys spending time outdoors and exploring new places.

Bronnie Morgan

TEACHER

Bronnie brings a joyful lightness to every class she teaches. Her Slow Flow and Hot Vinyasa classes are creative, uplifting and full of big smiles. Expect to be challenged, have a little fun, and probably make a few new friends along the way.

With a love of astrology and all things energy, Bronnie weaves thoughtful themes into her classes that invite you to look a little deeper, while still keeping things playful and down to earth. You’ll leave feeling energised, rejuvenated and connected, to yourself and the people around you.

When she’s not teaching yoga, you’ll find Bronnie catching a sunrise at the beach or creating beautiful artwork.

Kona Donovan

TEACHER

Kona comes from a dance and theatre background and has performed his traditional Hawaiian dancing at a variety of events across Queensland.

His yogic journey began in Hawaii, where he was taught his first Downward Facing Dog. After experiencing the world from a different perspective, he decided to embark on a voyage of self-discovery.

This led to experimenting with different styles of yoga and meditation, before choosing to dive deeper into the ocean of Vinyasa and Yin.

Kona wishes to share The Practice with as many people as possible, as yoga has given him an increase of energy and zest for life!

Kona’s classes invite you to move with intention, explore something a little different and get completely absorbed in the practice.

Jayde Doody

TEACHER

Jayde has been immersed in movement for most of her life, beginning with dance at just three years old and building a career spanning more than 18 years across movement, health, leadership and education. Pilates has been at the heart of her teaching for the past 14 years, alongside experience in yoga, Barre, TRX, strength training, boxing, dance and meditation.

With an early background in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science, Jayde has always been curious about the human body and what shapes the way we think, feel and move. Alongside teaching, she has held senior leadership and education roles, mentoring movement professionals, developing facilitators and delivering teacher training and professional development.

Connection is at the heart of Jayde’s work; movement is the medium. She sees movement as an opportunity to become curious about ourselves, build confidence and self-trust, explore our capacity and connect more deeply with ourselves and the people around us.

Her teaching combines technical knowledge with warmth and a very human approach. Expect thoughtful programming, purposeful challenge, plenty of options, good music, curiosity and probably a few laughs along the way.

Originally from Mount Gambier in South Australia, Jayde now calls the Sunshine Coast home. Outside the studio, she’s a tea connoisseur, loves disappearing into a good romantasy novel and is endlessly fascinated by neuroscience and human behaviour.

Kate Houlahan

TEACHER

Kate first found yoga via Ashtanga. She has gone to add power vinyasa, yin, pre & post natal, alignment and even teaching yoga in Spanish. Kate has experience teaching in Mexico, Nicaragua, Colombia and around Australia.

Claire Parkin

TEACHER

The combination of movement and stillness bought from Yoga is my medicine, my song and my way to navigate through life.

Yoga was passed down to me from my grandmother, to my mother and then to me. First travelling to an ashram when I was 17, the practice and dedication only expanded from there. Practicing many different styles and learning from many different teachers, I landed on Ashtanga after birthing my oldest daughter and practiced daily with Bec Gilby over years.

Completing 200hrs at Yog Peeth in Rishikesh India as my foundation study. I then completing 50hr Yin, Hands on assist, Advanced vinyasa, creative sequencing as well as the learning that comes with teaching and practicing daily has been the basis of all study and

My classes are a creative sequence of playfulness, drawing influence from Ashtanga, Hatha and Vinyasa styles. With little doses of inspiration dotted through to help you deepen your practice. My hope is that you will leave your mat feeling nourished, balanced and refreshed.

Morag Bos

TEACHER

Morag teaches two different sides of yoga, and loves them both for their own reasons.

In her Rocket Vinyasa Classes, expect a strong and dynamic flow but don’t expect it to feel too serious. She loves to keep things light, playful, and full of smiles, because she thinks sometimes we all take ourselves a bit too seriously!

On the flip side, her Slow Flow classes are where things get quiet. We move slowly, sinking into each pose, with smooth transitions connecting it all together.

Originally from a small mountain town in British Columbia, Canada, Morag has now made the Sunshine Coast her home and loves that 21 degrees now feels “cold” to her.

Morag brings a bright, bubbly energy to everything she teaches. You will probably hear her laugh before you even make it into the room.

Whether you’re chasing a challenge, or craving the calm, Morag can guide you through either to help find your bliss.

Kathleen Kingsbury

TEACHER

Kathleen came across yoga in her teen years in northern NSW, reading books on philosophy and eastern wisdom, and she’s been enamoured ever since!

Teaching slow flow yoga and meditation are her favourites. She also loves hosting yoga-adventure experiences in far-away countries 🙂

She has been teaching for 19 years; her style is inclusive, friendly, and she loves to show you how yoga gives you access to your own inner calm, even when the world around is wild.

Laura Fuchs

TEACHER

Laura teaches spicy power flows with plenty of mobility work, and every so often a Yin class to ground all that movement back into the body (and explor beyond).

She’s a big fan of all bodies and all abilities, so there are always options, and the invitation to do whatever feels good for you on the day rather than what felt good last year.

After years of working in nervous system awareness coaching, she tends to leave you with a question to sit with for the week.

English is her second language, so now and then a word goes missing mid-cue and gets replaced by an enthusiastic hand gesture. So far nobody has ended up in the wrong pose, though a few people have discovered new ones. Join Laura a fun mix of strong shapes, deep reflections and good vibes.

Laura hosts monthly new moon circles where you will learn about the latest goings on in the astro worlds and leave zen, feeling ready for the new month ahead!

Jemma Aylen

TEACHER

Jemma’s connection with yoga began at a young age and has continued to evolve throughout her life. Drawn to the balance of strength, movement and self-awareness, yoga has become much more than a physical practice for her — shaping the way she moves, teaches and experiences the world.

Jemma’s classes blend creative sequencing, playfulness, and inspiration, encouraging students to explore their practice and leave feeling refreshed and nourished, both on and off the mat.

With a passion for Pilates, strength training, and embodied movement, Jemma believes in building a resilient body and mind that supports long-term wellbeing. Her intention is for students to leave her classes feeling both peaceful and empowered.

Beyond the studio, Jemma loves travelling, surfing, health and fitness, spending time in nature, and creating art.

Karlie Coker

TEACHER

With several years of personal practice followed by teaching, Karlie brings a playful, creative energy to her Rocket Yoga and strong Vinyasa classes. Her teaching is dynamic and flowing, with creative transitions and plenty of opportunities to explore, challenge yourself and maybe spend a little time upside down.

Karlie encourages students to push their boundaries with curiosity and self-compassion, balancing the strength and challenge of the physical practice with a genuine focus on wellbeing, connection and enjoying the journey.

After recently welcoming her beautiful baby boy into the world, and completing a double deggree, Karlie has been taking some well-deserved time away from teaching, but she’s still very much part of our studio community. You’ll often see her around the studio and back on the mat enjoying her own practice. We’re looking forward to seeing more of her at the front of the room again too.
